Located directly on the Atlantic Ocean, in the south-west of France, the Aquitaine region covers a total area of 41.3 square kilometres. Together, the five departments of the region (Dordogne, Gironde, Landes, Lot-et-Garonne and Pyrénées-Atlantiques) have a population of 3,232,352. Agriculture, the wood industry and aeronautical engineering are considered to be the most important economic sectors alongside tourism. And both in the Aquitaine capital Bordeaux and in the rest of the region, more and more locals are offering rooms and holiday apartments for rent. But unlike couchsurfing in Aquitaine, you’ll find charming accommodation, comfort and privacy. In short: The perfect choice for your next trip. As a temporary resident, you live in the heart of your holiday resort and can certainly benefit from one or the other insider tip from your private landlord. Where do you get the tastiest wine, where does the food taste best? No travel guide can keep up with these first-hand tips.
Beautiful apartments in Aquitaine, on the French Atlantic coast
When searching for an apartment in Aquitaine you can then choose from a large selection of different offers. Whether you are looking for accommodation in Pau in the south-east of the region – the second largest city in Aquitaine after Bordeaux – directly on the coast, for example with a holiday apartment in Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains, or in a small seaside resort such as an apartment in Arcachon – you are guaranteed to benefit from the advantages of the region from anywhere.
Sightseeing, shopping and feasting: Everything from private accommodation in Aquitaine
The Pyla dune is particularly worth seeing in the region. At over 100 metres high and three kilometres long, it is the largest dune in Europe. In addition, the mild climate all year round, the vineyards of Bordeaux and the fine sandy beach of Bicarrosse attract numerous visitors to Aquitaine every year. In addition, the largest forest area in France invites you to take long walks. Thanks to its Roman history, you can also visit many historical buildings in Aquitaine, which give the region its very own charm. And with a bit of luck you might find a suitable apartment in Aquitaine in such a historic quarter. If you want your accommodation to be more central, modern and cool – no problem: Especially in and around the larger cities, such as Bordeaux, Pau or Mérignac, you will find private holiday apartments in Aquitaine that could compete with any design loft in the world. And if you still don’t have enough of the holiday: from Pau you drive by car just two and a half hours to the Spanish Basque Country. And from an Apartment in Bilbao you can now enjoy pure culture – and of course the tasty tapas – here, after beach and enjoyment.

Excellent, very charming place. I did a video of it http://lobo.mn/o8ZIVkEduardo reviewed 110 m2 dans Bordeaux historique in St Michel - Nansouty - St Genés
The flat is more of a studio or a beach cottage, with its one room, a tiny bathroom and kitchen. It has been recently renovated and is furnished and decorated in a very smart and tasteful way. The bed is a fold-away bed who is just about big enough to sleep two. In the kitchen you will find everything you need, including a microwave and a Nespresso coffee machine. The sea view from the communal terrace is gorgeous and there is a bus stop right in front of the house. The street noise might be a bit annoying for people with a light sleep, though. Definitely recommendable!Janine reviewed Appartement Biarritz in Biarritz
