About Robert & Deborah

We are a family run business, and offer a very warm welcome to visitors to our cottage. We have been letting since April 2011 and have had 100% positive feedback about the quality of our hospitality. About us: We are keen outdoors people, country sports and pursuits being high on our list of priorities. As a family we like to walk and take cycling trips. Skiing is a fairly new passion for us, we have had fantastic times in Italy and Austria. We keep a retired race horse and also pedigree Suffolk sheep and chickens. Our Cottage: Converted from a traditional farm cottage and dating back 200 years, our beautifully presented property over looks the glorious Yorkshire countryside towards the historical village of Haworth, once home to the literary family the Bronte’s. We have retained many interesting features in this spacious cottage; oak beams and original stone work provide character and style in a perfect location for lovers of the countryside. Our visitors like to relax and enjoy the views from each window across fields and meadows, or enjoy dining alfresco in the lawned garden on those warmer evenings. Footpaths lead directly from the cottage across fields and moorland, the close-by peaceful lanes and tracks are ideal for exploring by bicycle. The village of Haworth is short walk away; with cobbled streets, character inns, quaint shops, tea rooms and restaurants serving good food. The local village of Oakworth is also in easy walking distance along country lanes and offers convenience stores, inns and options for fast food. Take a ride on the renowned Steam Preservation Railway that runs along the Worth Valley and explore the area that was used for filming ‘The Railway Children’. Within a short drive, the Yorkshire Dales National Park has pretty villages to explore amongst the limestone scenery, with Skipton ‘The Gateway to the Dales’ a traditional market town, well worth a visit. In the opposite direction the village of Saltaire, a world heritage site, home to the David Hockney gallery offers an amazing alternative day out; visitors also take time to visit the Spa towns of Ilkley and Harrogate, both renowned for quality shopping. Our accommodation Ground floor: well equipped kitchen/dining room with electric ‘Aga’. Sitting room with wood burning stove. Sun room, with views of the surrounding countryside. Cloakroom, with WC and basin. Inner hall. First floor: 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath, WC, basin and heated towel rail.
