The location worried me......unnecessarily! The Metro was 2 minutes away, and Argumentosa street provided the Librere (coffee shop), and later at night Fantastico (pizza and good cheap wine) and tapas places.Bombay Palace was only one of many Eastern restaurants nearby. We escaped the hectic excitement of old Madrid after shopping, sipping, and exploring, and walked home to this off the beat area. You will want this apt for the peace and security it provides. You are among the locals. The owner will answer anything honestly and believe me, I asked many questions. Just get crystal clear directions from the train station, or take the Metro or grab a cab. We got lost. Walk to the museums easily and actually, anywhere in old Madrid. We put down towels outside that faulty shower and spun them dry in the washer. They dried on the heated towel rack. Just replug the WiFi if the password doesn't work. All directions are posted in many languages in the apt.

Loved the location in the middle of a lively working class neighborhood with restaurants, bars, and culture venues. Apartment faces away from street, therefore very quiet. All major attractions are in walking distance. Nice apartment layout, perfect for two.

The apartment is perfect for a stay in Madrid. It's calm but also very central and you have a bit of private outside space to have a glass of wine in the evening. The apartment is beautiful, the shower is amazing and you can cook whatever you want in the kitchen.

Martin was great. Although we had the apartment for ourselves, he was a great host. He had lunch with us, told us lots of interesting things about the city and showed us around. And if you're a tourist who doesn't speak Spanish, you'll be very lucky to have Martin as your host because he's about the only person in Madrid who speaks Spanish, English and German perfectly.
