Puerto del Rosario is the capital of Fuerteventura and, as such, is home to most of the institutions but also a varied cultural and commercial life. It is the largest city of Fuerteventura and if you plan to go shopping, you cannot miss a visit to the city. Just a few kilometres from the centre is the international airport of Fuerteventura, while its port is the main point of connection by sea with the other Canary Islands.

What to see in Puerto del Rosario

Although it is only two centuries old, Puerto del Rosario is still a modern tourist centre and is mainly a transit point for tourists arriving at the airport or port, and then leaving for the most beautiful places in Fuerteventura. Interesting to visit is the Parque Escultorico, an open-air museum with sculptures and statues in the strangest poses, installed in all the pedestrian areas of the city. The beaches of Puerto del Rosario

Located in the center of the island of Fuerteventura, the province of Puerto del Rosario offers beaches both east and west. Just outside the city, the most famous beach is certainly Playa Blanca. Often quite crowded with clerks and employees during their work break. 7km south of the city centre is Puerto Escondido beach, while on the other side of the coast, 30km from Puerto del Rosario, on the other side of the coast, you can visit El Puertito beach.
