Über Nathalie & Ahmet
Hello, my name is Nathalie, I'm French, I've been working for more than 20 years in Luxembourg as a translator, but now I spend half of my time in Turkey. The reason why I happen to live there half time is called Ahmet! We will welcome you in our flat in Maltepe, on the Asian side of Istanbul. For years, we felt very lucky to live there: just think that our flat faces the Princes' Islands while there are people in that huge city of more than 15 millions inhabitants who are said never to have seen the sea... Ahmet moved to Istanbul in 1986 and worked there till April 2017 (he's a civil engineer) . As for me, while I was in Istanbul, I spent a lot of time walking around, mostly in Beyoğlu and Kadiköy, always looking for nice little places where both of us can later go and eat. In our opinion, that's in those two lively neighbourhoods that East and West best meet in Istanbul. To make it short, we love the city and we're sure you'll love it as well (it's impossible not to be impressed by the beauty of its historical heritage, its vitality and the warm welcome of its inhabitants). If you stay with us, we'll supply lots of useful information about the Istanbul we like, which may be a bit different from the one tourists are used to see. You can write to us in French, in English and in Turkish of course, but also in Spanish and in German.

Benjamin 5.0 23.06.2016The flat`s view is fantastic. It is quite big, everything is there, everything may be used. Very quiet place. We hat not so much time to enjoy the flat since we went to Istanbul to attend a convention in Bostanci. But when it was possible we enjoyed it very much just to sit there on the balcony or in front of the window at the living room and watch the wonderful view around the city, to the sea and to the islands. To travel to the islands from Bostanci the flat is a very good location. To get to the hotspots of Istanbul für tourists it may take quite long (although there is a metro station not too far). But we did not try it.

Fantastische Aussicht, sehr gepflegt und auf hohem Standard eingerichtet. Auf den Abstand zum Stadtzentrum wurde schon vorher hingewiesen (Anfahrt ca. 1 Std.) inclusive einer sehr schönen Bootsfahrt - wenn man nicht die U-Bahn ganz vorzieht , dauert aber genauso lang. U-Bahnstation ca. 5 min. in der Nähe.
Die Wohnung hat alles was man benötigt und mehr. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten direkt vor der Tür.
Es war super!
Wir konnten unseren Urlaub in vollen Zügen geniessen! -

Our hosts were very kind, they gave us all necessary information well before our trip, plus we found detailed info also in the flat. The place is spacious in a very new building, with breath-taking panorama facing the Princes Islands. It was perfectly clean and comfortable. It was painful to leave the flat every day, but after all the idea was to visit Istanbul, not to stay at home. The trip to the old town is a bit long, but both the metro service and the ferries work pretty well. There are good shops and bakeries near the flat. We would be happy to repeat the stay.

Der Blick aufs Meer und auf die Prinzeninseln ist tatsächlich so toll wie auf den Fotos im Netz. Die Wohnung ist sehr modern und praktisch eingerichtet. Wir haben uns ausgesprochen wohl gefühlt. Die Anbindung ans Zentrum ist optimal und stimmt exakt mit der angegebenen Beschreibung überein. Die Anfahrt ins Zentrum ist etwas zeitaufwendig - aber mit Metro und Fähre - gut bewältigbar. Der Vorteil ist, dass man das reale Leben der Menschen hier etwas besser verstehen kann. Wir können das Quartier nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen.

We met Ahmet in the flat. He was waiting there very patiently since we arrived two hours too late (traffic jams). Ahmet and Natalie are very generous and show great trust in their guests. Also their informations are very detailed. The whole transaction was very uncomplicated. We found no detail that was missing. Thanks again for that.

Alles gut vorbereitet, engagiert und durchdacht. Viele Informationen schriftlich, alles sehr unkompliziert und entgegenkommend.
Um den Gast auch während des Aufenthalts ernsthaft bemüht und erreichbar, wenn es Probleme gegeben hätte. (hat es aber nicht :))
Schade, dass wir uns nicht persönlich kennengelernt haben. -

Our very attentive host let us a local mobile phone to be in touch with him in case of need. Through this channel did he inform us about the half-day long electric blackout that hit half of Turkey.

Nathalie und Ahmet sind ausgesprochen gastfreundlich und entgegenkommend. Der Mailkontakt funktioniert perfekt. Sie antworten sofort auf Anfragen. Mit Nathalie ist Kommunikation auf Deutsch ist wunderbar möglich. Wir haben eine Menge Unterlagen über die Stadt bekommen, Tipps fürs Essengehen und bezüglich Transportmittel.
