The largest city in the state of Alaska, it has just under 300,000 inhabitants, but still represents about 40% of the entire population of the state.
Located in the southern central part of Alaska, it is the city with the least severe climate of the entire state. For this reason Anchorage is the ideal base for excursions and trips to other areas of Alaska.
For this reason, the inhabitants of the state like to say that “Anchorage is only 20 minutes away from Alaska”. Apart from that, it is definitely the best city to acclimatize to the harsh temperatures of the entire state.
Finding your own Anchorage
Being quite small, the city is very easy to get around on foot, especially the centre. The city offers museums and art galleries, walking and cycling routes and above all the possibility of whale watching from the mainland. Which is not exactly common.
With 9flats, it’s easy to find an accommodation in Anchorage either you’re looking for a cheap hotel or you’re looking for a vacation rental or an apartments in Anchorage.
